Chief Scientist Appointment Ceremony was Held in July
In the morning of 1st July, the chief scientist appointment ceremony was held in CAC Innovation Building, Songjiang, G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in Shanghai. 40 people attended activities including Professor Li Zhong of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), CAC Chairman Farmer Tin and other management team members. R&D vice president Dr. Pang and Farmer Tin handed over employment offer to Professor Li Zhong that day.
Dr. Pang introduced CAC overall situation, especially the investment to R&D part. Basing on latest data from CCPIA, CAC has taken a place of China Top 20 Sales in consecutive years. CAC also has trained multi-sector talents recently and built up two innovated researching center in both Shanghai and Changsha, established new plat form for new molecule development and its industrialization. CAC is committed to develop innovated capacity to cover full industry chain and offer stable support to sustainable development.
Professor Li Zhong is the doctoral supervisor of ECUST, as well as the director of Chemicobiology key laboratory and drug chemical team head. In the past years, he hosted NSFC Green Pesticide project, 863 Plan of China and notional key research projects, etc. At the same time, Professor Li is also chosen to be the head of organization department of the Central Committee of the CPC, and Leading Talent of young scientist, Leading Talent in Shanghai, outstanding academic leaders, etc. His main achievement is about the study of Green Pesticide Cycloxaprid and its industrialization, the latter one got approved registration in 2017. Professor Li also expressed reason of being CAC partner, he is interested by the CAC ambitious of R&D and strong capacity of industrialization and management.
Farmer Tin spoke highly of pesticide innovative achievement of domestic pesticide from ECUST. He pointed out the difficulties of innovation is not only in preliminary study, but also in application and industrialization. CAC and ECUST had good cooperation basis before in active ingredient selection, and jointly research in process, crystal form and formulation product. Mr. Tin hoped reach a higher target with Pro. Li’s team in future.
